A resource I often use when working with clients is the Occupational Network (O*Net). It was created and is kept up to date by the Department of Labor. On the web page you can find a wide variety of helpful information including an extensive listing of job summaries. When exploring future job openings or researching the nature of different job roles the summaries provide a good amount of detail. Each summary includes the major function of the job, tasks, knowledge and skills, work activities, competencies, etc. The summaries also include salary information, projected job openings, educational resources, and current job openings. Check it out!
